So I recently came back from a 10-day trip to Japan and one thing that I have been saying to everyone who asked me about the trip is: I didn't expect to like Japan as much as I did! Sens ō -ji Shrine, Asakusa, Tokyo Obviously as this was my first time, we went to Tokyo and Osaka (and a day trip to Kyoto). The itinerary was straightforward and touristy - shopping, DisneySea, Asakusa, temples, Dotombori, USJ, more temples etc. What I really enjoy about Japan and the trip is that while the country is obviously known for its advanced economy, technologies and efficiency, the more intangible values of a country like its culture, subcultures and way of life are still highly visible and celebrated. It's such an interesting country and I am already (unexpectedly) planning my next trip there to continue exploring and immersing in its wonderful energy.
